System 7 Tune-Up Version 1.1.1
Installation Instructions


To install the System 7 Tune-Up version 1.1.1, users should follow
the instructions below to ensure that the installation is correct.

1. Reboot your Macintosh using the using the Disk Tools disk
which is part of the System 7 disk set. Select and run the Disk
First Aid program.

2. If Disk First Aid registers a problem that it cannot fix and
   you have had folders disappear, you may be able to recover
   what you think you have lost by doing the following (If you
   have not had any problems then proceed to Step 3.):
   a. Search your hard drive(s) for specific files inside
      folders that have  disappeared.  Do this by performing a
      Find from the File menu of the Finder. If this does not
      work, perform another Find and select the All At Once box
      in the dialog box under More Choices. Begin searching for
      file names beginning with specific letters of the alphabet.
      Continue until you have found all those items that
      disappeared with your folders.
   b. As items are found in this way, copy them to another
      hard drive or floppy disks for back-up.
   c. Back-up the contents of your hard drive.
   d. Re-initialize your hard drive.
   e. Re-install System 7.0 or System 7.0.1.
   f. Install System 7 Tune-Up 1.1.1 by double clicking on the
      Installer icon on the Tune-Up disk. Choose Restart
      after the installation is complete.
   g. Reinstall all other applications, inits, desk accessories,
      etc. that were resident on your hard drive.

3. If Disk First Aid does not register a problem OR registers and
   fixes the problems that it finds, install the System 7 Tune-Up
   1.1.1 by double clicking on the Installer icon on the Tune-Up
   disk. Choose Restart after the installation is complete.
